The Leeds Community Kollel has two primary missions.
One is to provide a high standard Jewish learning programme within the Leeds Jewish community whereby its members engage in Talmudic research and have recently attained smicha.
The second involves the Kollel families, who live in Leeds and engage in work with the community to enhance the cultural experience of Judaism. This includes not only hosting and befriending people in Leeds (some of whom are in very vulnerable situations) but also providing cultural and learning experiences including leading some of the Shabbat UK activities in Leeds, giving bar and bat mitzva/ bat chayil classes, Jewish assemblies, learning sessions, mikva attendants, event coordinators, youth groups, a Holocaust and social action trip and much more. We are working from within the community to make a fantastic community even better and look to a bright future for Jews in Leeds.
